The Ottó Herman Museum is one of the largest and richest provincial museums. Its art gallery is of national standing. In the permanent exhibition, renewed in 2005, the general public can become acquainted with the history of Hungarian fine art from the 1700s to the mid-20th century through its prestigious works.

Wooden curch
The Székely-style wooden church was built in 1938 on the site of the wooden church built in the 17th century, thanks to donations from the faithful and the income provided for this purpose by the Bató family.

Miskolc National Theatre
The Miskolc National Theatre is the first permanent theatre in Hungary today. The old building was destroyed in the great fire of 1843, and the new theatre, built on the corner of Déryné Street and Széchenyi Street, was completed by September 1857.

Szinva Terrace
The square consists of terraces and stairs that lead down to the elevated water level of the Szinva and to the artificial waterfall built into the wall of the riverbed, which is illuminated in the evenings.

Orthodox church iconostasis
At the exhibition of the Hungarian Orthodox Church, you can gain insight into the material world of the liturgy, marvel at the intricate, meticulously handcrafted crosses of the monks of Mount Athos, and also view icons from the 17th-18th centuries.

Statue of Saint Stephen
In Miskolc, on Szent István Square, also known as Dísz Square, stands Zsolt Jószay's full-length statue of Saint Stephen, made of Süttő stone. The artwork was unveiled by the Archbishop of Eger on December 27, 2000.

Avas Reformed Church
The Gothic Reformed Church of Avas is the oldest building in the city center of Miskolc. The church's exterior retains its 15th-century form: a three-nave hall church with Gothic details.

House of Arts
The House of Arts is a multifunctional cultural center and concert hall in the city center of Miskolc, renovated and expanded from the former Béke cinema building.

Miskolc's pedestrian street
Miskolc's city centre preserves the atmosphere of the historic old town, and its central axis is Széchenyi István Street, which locals often simply call the Main Street.
