Kikelet Club HotelGlow-worms in the Fountain Valley

We set off towards the Forrás Valley again the other evening. We were looking for glow-worms, as we often do in the summer, and while we were there, we didn't miss the Kecske-lyuk cave either.

The Forrás Valley is easily accessible by car from Miskolctapolca, so it is often mentioned when we are not planning a full-day excursion, but just a shorter walk. This area is especially lovely in summer: the heat subsides by the end of the day, the forest is quieter, and fireflies may appear around dark.

Every year the children watch for the first little light to appear in the trees. This was not the case this year either. As it got darker, more and more little lights appeared in the forest, and we also walked to the Goat Hole cave.

The cave is one of the children's favorites. It's easy to access, yet it has that exploring atmosphere that they love. It was pleasantly cool inside with lots of bats, and outside the evening lights and the greenery of the forest made for a very beautiful sight.

The Forrás Valley and the Kecske-lyuk Cave are among the nearby places that we would like to recommend to those who are staying with us in Miskolctapolca. You don't have to plan a long hike, but it will still take you out of your usual routine: forest, cave, walk, and in summer even fireflies.

Starting from Kikelet, several similar, shorter routes are easily accessible. That's why we love Miskolctapolca: you don't have to go far if you're looking for a nature-friendly program in addition to relaxation.
