The Miskolc Zoo and Culture Park is the zoo with the oldest history in Hungary; its predecessor, the royal game park, was founded back by Louis the Great. In the park, built in little more than a hundred days, originally only the natural wildlife of the Bükk region was presented, where, walking along the fence, visitors could watch the roe deer, red deer and wild boar emerging from among the trees. Developments at the zoo began in 1993.
The wildlife park not only presents the wildlife of the Bükk and Zemplén Mountains in its 21.2 ha area, but also mostly exotic animals.
