With its height of twenty metres, the Lillafüred waterfall is today Hungary's waterfall with the greatest vertical drop. The waterfall was created during the construction of the Palace Hotel in Lillafüred, so it is an artificial waterfall; originally the Szinva stream flowed into Hámori Lake. From the promenade, which reaches the waterfall at roughly its halfway point, you can safely descend to beneath the waterfall along a path next to the railing – as can be seen in the picture – while from the Anna Tufa Cave you arrive directly at the foot of the waterfall. Part of the Anna Tufa Cave lies beneath the waterfall. The Lillafüred Chairlift offers a beautiful view of the wonders of the Bükk Mountains from on high, carrying passengers from the Lillafüred resort area to Jávorhegy, towards Bükkszentkereszt. Besides being environmentally friendly, quiet and safe, the cable-car lift is also a real tourist curiosity, since along its route many of the region's natural beauties under Natura 2000 protection are revealed to us.
